It is a Sport Model with 24" Torpedo decks and all Mahogany top wood, and a very rare find. It was manufactured in Veazie Maine about 1918. Seats recaned. Has not been used much since then. Belived to be an Old Town, age uncertain as no numbers are now to be found. |Cedar Lapstrake CanoeA finely crafted and very sturdy Burke-built lapstrake canoe. Comfortable on quiet water to ocean, handles beautifully in a bit of sea. Very good condition, used little, single owner, always stored properly, Hull refinished by builder recently. Cedar planks, white oak keel and keel plate, red oak ribs and thwarts, tamarack knees stem and stern, cherry sheerstrake and stem and stern plates, a joy to paddle. Sliding Gunter sail rig built by Burke, Nat Wilson sails (East Boothbay, ME), cherry leeboard, sail outfit like new.
